Methods and techniques for meeting the distinct educational needs of the non-native speaker of English of all ages; appropriate classroom teaching strategies and curriculum development and curriculum adaptation.

Organizing for instructional design in educational institutions at various levels such as local school, county, district, college, and university systems. Field work related to university outreach programs.

701 A Critical Analysis of the Use of Computers in the Curriculum:
A theoretical framework for analyzing the role of computers, and of interactive computer-based instructional media, in the curriculum.

The concept of curriculum in modern American education.

711 Culture, Curriculum, and Learning:
Exploration of literature and recent debates related to cultural and linguistic diversity, learning, and instruction. Discussion will focus on education within and across home, community, and school contexts, including a focus on home-school-community relationships.

801 Interactive Media and Computers in the Curriculum:
Theory and practice of designing, developing, and implementing computer courseware for the classroom, including interactive video and instructional computer-based media.

844 Culturally Relevant Pedagogy:
Pedagogy that explores the relationship between culture and learning as well as teacher ideology and beliefs systems. Examines critical pedagogy and pedagogies of resistance.

Introduction to research problems, questions, hypotheses, variables, constructs, definitions, measurement, research and experimental designs, sampling, descriptive statistics, proposal writing, types of research and statistical computing. Critical analysis of published research.

Theory and research applied to the study of policy issues and problems in college and university administration.

Explores higher education curriculum including academic program philosophy and design, planning and development, program innovations, liberal education, academic majors, graduate and professional education, program review and evaluation.
