Interview with Ritt Deitz, Director, UW-Madison Professional French Masters Program. This two-minute interview presents the basics of the program, with its over 200 alumni, as a great way to use your French to find a career.
“I always think that joining this program was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.”
(MFS 2020, business)
As we finish our twenty-first year, the UW-Madison Master of French Studies remains one of the few graduate degrees signifying both advanced proficiency in French and applied work experience using it. Over two hundred program alumni (and counting) have used our program’s unique combination of courses, individual research, professional workshops, mentoring, networking and work experience to develop international careers in all kinds of fields.
As the evolving COVID-19 pandemic brings continued change, PFMP students and alumni continue to find professional opportunities in those corners of the job market seeking bilingual professionals in English and French. See the latest issue of the program newsletter for updates on student and alumni internships, hires and job changes.
The application deadline for Fall 2021 is April 20, 2021. The PFMP reviews applications on a rolling basis through April 20, notifying applicants of admission decisions within two weeks.
