What is the PFMP?

The PFMP is a master’s program in language and culture for French speakers who want to use their French in their career.  Students concentrate their research and intern in one of six professional areas:

All students take graduate courses in French and personalized professional skills workshops with experts in areas like entrepreneurship, project management, strategic communication, global health-focused international development, marketing research, fundraising, translation, budgeting and international education.  Graduates work across the spectrum:

  • international business (Paypal, Champagne Laurent Perrier, Nike France, Trek Bicycles, CNH Capital, GfK Custom Research, Grange, Natixis, Kraft),
  • wine and gastronomy (Wine Library, Domaine de la Verrière),
  • film and theater production (Morgan Production, Paris),
  • international trade offices (Quebec Delegation in Chicago),
  • translation firms (Transperfect)
  • PR and communications (RJR Communications, Kingston Jamaica; i&e, Paris, Publicis, TNS Media Intelligence),
  • software and logistics (Epicor, Mister Ted, SPS Commerce),
  • banking (Crédit Agricole, Dexia),
  • market research (INIT, Kantar Health France),
  • federal agencies (USAID, Defense Intelligence Agency, U.S. State Department),
  • international education (Central College Abroad, Carleton College, Southern Oregon University, University of Missouri, Juniata College, Baruch College, Wisconsin School of Business),
